Default GMC folks?

Was driving my sister'* 98 suburban with 163K today . Turned off the car, went into the store, and when I came back, my windshield wipers were on... wierd. And then when I started the car, I had a battery light and a check engine light that weren't there. And then it refused to accelerate, acted like it was in neutral. Sound like the alternator is about to crap? That'* my only guess, I don't know much about all the electrical stuff.

Oh, and the blinker'* been ticking really fast for a while too, isn't that an indicator of a bad alt?

I believe the turn signal indicator blinking really fast means that one of the signal bulbs is burned out.
