Default gmail/browser help!

Only happens on my laptop (primary pc):

Starting yesterday, when I go to Gmail, it loads over and over. Every two seconds the address bar changes to something extra long, revolving and loading every two seconds. Page never loads.

http://mail.google.com/mail/?auth=DQ...=1l71fsjwd353j

But it only does this on my laptop, despite clearing cookies and temp files.

HP NW8000 Mobile Workstation. XP Pro. IE6. Cannot upgrade to 7 until HP servers are ready for it. This is my work laptop.

Problem is not associated with any software/java/program changes. Just started happening. Reboots and clearing history/cookies/temp files has no effect.

Does it do the same thing in a different (say, far superior) browser like Firefox?

I don't have FF on this laptop. And I won't/can't. It'* my work laptop. Since hp doesn't manage FF'* security on the network at work, we don't put it on hp-owned machines.

Gmail works fine in IE5 and FF on my desktop at home.

My best guess is something on the server side. You might want to ask a network admin if they have just updated some of their software. Have you made any changes to the computer (hardware or software) right before it started doing this?

My laptop hasn't been docked at work since Wednesday at 2pm. It'* been booted fresh at home 3 times since then, and is still here.

It'* not an hp server issue. I'm on my home network, where two other PC'* (mine and the kids) work fine in IE or FF.

This has to be an IE issue.

Scratch that. I can't send or reply from that interface, but at least it took me to my inbox, and used the right cookie to autologin.
