i know of a fairly inexpensive apartment complex in maitland. were talking $800 for a 2 story 1300 sq ft townhouse. 1 bedrooms right around $500.

it'* only about 15 minutes from downtown. i used to work there and would run downtown to kate o'brians for lunch.

First - Dude i am sorry that you are in this situation and i hope it works out for you.

However, i don't understand this whole "rent control" thing ... i smells of "DA MAN" or the government sticking thier noses in where it doesn't belong. shouldn't an owner be able to charge what they want for rent? Are we not a FREE MARKET society?

Really, how would you like it if you owned a house for a few years, the market value increased - even modestly, and you wanted to sell it at that price BUT the government said NO NO NO you must sell it for $XXXX not $YYYYYY! What about if you want to sell a car?

Sorry, this kind of stuff while it may not be "fair" to the average consumer is how our economy is supposed to work - pricing set at what the market will bear.

That isn't bad at all...I still may go with that condotel here for 600 all utes included for the time being. That guy won't run my credit, which I am trying to get rasied up a few points for a home loan.

Ever thought about throwing your stuff in storage and renting a room or roomating?
I'm sure there are others that work at the airport that need to live local and cheaply.

Any major airports up in your area that have flight simulators? The bad part about my career field is I can really only work in major cities (a factor I did not consider while going to school), and last I heard Wisconsin is worse than hell (as per the movie "Dogma"). BUT if there are some sort of technical jobs up that way....at this point I could really care less about where I go so long as I can get a job :?

If I go with the condotel I will have to throw everything in storage anyways. I've done the roomate thing before and I'll never do it again. Besides, one would think that I should be able to do this on my own, and I should. Not to mention a live-in girlfriend and my son that is here until August 3rd. (yes she works but really only makes enough money to pay for her bills and maybe some food on the table).

I may be putting out an SOS soon on a mini-meet to get the SSEi running on its own power...will be keeping people local to me posted.

UPDATE: I got a place in Orlando...very upscale compared to where I am at now. Will be moving the 27th of this month. As for the Bonneville....still working on that issue. Will more than likely be towing a comatose SSEi to storage somewhere, if they will take it in a non-running state.
