i know of a fairly inexpensive apartment complex in maitland. were talking $800 for a 2 story 1300 sq ft townhouse. 1 bedrooms right around $500.
it'* only about 15 minutes from downtown. i used to work there and would run downtown to kate o'brians for lunch.

First - Dude i am sorry that you are in this situation and i hope it works out for you.
However, i don't understand this whole "rent control" thing ... i smells of "DA MAN" or the government sticking thier noses in where it doesn't belong. shouldn't an owner be able to charge what they want for rent? Are we not a FREE MARKET society?
Really, how would you like it if you owned a house for a few years, the market value increased - even modestly, and you wanted to sell it at that price BUT the government said NO NO NO you must sell it for $XXXX not $YYYYYY! What about if you want to sell a car?
Sorry, this kind of stuff while it may not be "fair" to the average consumer is how our economy is supposed to work - pricing set at what the market will bear.

the last couple years i lived there, we lived in this **** hole place for $900/mo...we came from living in a 500k condominium for $800, but they decided they were gonna sell the place and get their half a mil...it really sucks....but here in wisconsin, we live in a REALLY nice BRAND NEW lux apt, 2 bd 2 bath, for only 550/mo!!!!!! and that comes with a garage AND parking...about 900 sq ft i think too...MOVE UP HERE! its cooler too....its only 72 degrees right now we need more Wi members anyways....

Ever thought about throwing your stuff in storage and renting a room or roomating?
I'm sure there are others that work at the airport that need to live local and cheaply.

UPDATE: I got a place in Orlando...very upscale compared to where I am at now. Will be moving the 27th of this month. As for the Bonneville....still working on that issue. Will more than likely be towing a comatose SSEi to storage somewhere, if they will take it in a non-running state.
