Does anyone have one? If so how does it work?
Or what do you suggest that works good? and is under $100
You hit the tank on the bottom repeatedly with a hammer. It'll warm right up for ya.....
Find a model number on it, and search for specific lighting directions. You don't want to go with "Well, on mine all you do is...."

I have one. They work very well in smaller spaces. If you're trying to heat a whole 2 car garage, that'* probably not your best bet. For local heat, that'* efficient, you can't beat it.
Do a google search on "Mr. Heater".

That seems to look like it can be knocked over pretty easily. I would get something that has a built in safety feature that if it should fall over, it would shut off.
Keep searching IMO

BTW, that Mr. Heater head simply mounts to a gas grill propane jug. Those jugs are easy to find and have refilled.
If you're concerned about it knocking over buy a stand/ring that won't allow the jug to tip easily.

I've been to construction sites where those are used. They'll bring a decent sized room to a comfortable, if not truely warm, temperature. But, for a garage application I'd be kinda worried. If you've never been around one, that big red spot is basically an open flame (more along the lines of a wik in a Coleman Lantern, but still) so you have that to worry about. As well as the stability of the tank. But, they are very economical.
