Default G6

Has anybody checked out the new G6 yet? I looked at one yesterday and I really like it! I could see myself having one in a few years used as long as they drive good and aren't real slow. (basically as long as it'* a whole lot better than the Grand Am was, although the GA wasn't a bad car just not one I'd want to own.)

My friend got one about a month ago. It was a GT. It had a 3500 V6. He let me drive it a few times. I really like the car. It feels like a Grand Am, and performs about the same. It might be a little quicker. The interior is awesome, and there are tons of features.

I was looking forward to the car because in the early press releases on the Pontiac site they said it would come with a six-speed manual as an option. What happened? No six-speed. Only the Vibe GT comes with that option in FWD.

The six speed comes next year when they do the GXP Model.

Until they get rid of the 3500 that dates back to 80 (Citation) I will not be interested in a G6. They are comming out with a 3900 off the same block, soon this thing is going to be a 5 liter.

The 3500 is basically a 3400 just a tad larger. It puts out 200HP and it can move. Very good engine for that car.

That surprising to me, but nice to know. My neighbor has a new Grand Prix, and its interior is really disappointing to me. Lots of ugly plastic crap, weird round vents, looks too "futuristic" IMO. The G6 is cool because it'* new, but it'll get old quick if it becomes as common as the Grand Am.
