The FUNNIEST damn thing just happened to me.......
Pulled into 7-11 to get some beer on the way home. As I was getting out of my car, an older Buick Regal Custom pulled in next to me and the driver got out. Maybe 20. In a friendly manner, he said "nice looking car, wanna go for pinks?". Now I have to tell you, it'* been about 15 years since someone asked me that. His car was lowered with fat meats and not much else obvious. I knew it was (should be) a 3.1 liter.
I didn't say anything. The clerk at 7-11 was outside smoking and said it for me (his name is Bill too.....) "Dude. You don't wanna do that." I held up my index finger to the kid to stay there (by now near the front of Greenzilla), and went back to pop the release. I got back around the door and lifted the hood.
He took one look, and started telling his bud on the phone about it. We talked for about 10 minutes about it. He was flabbergasted. I told him I could have been a jerk, and not shown him under the hood, but I'm too nice a guy.
I gave him a good taste of 'whine' as I was pulling out

Way to go Bill. You did the right thing. It was sweeter to see the look on his face when you showed him what you had under the hood. He should've kissed your feet that he still had a ride home that night.

I wouldn't have shown him anything. I would've raced him, blown him away, and then not stopped and talked to him, just to let him know how stupid what he had just done was, and how lucky he was. Its not like he was gonna give you the car anyways.
