FS: Gateway Laptop
I am considering Selling my gateway 400XL laptop (400SD4).
2.4ghz P4
512mb DDR
40gb HD
CDRW/DVD
Floppy drive
15inch monitor
Extras:
CDRW/DVD drive
Floppy Drive
Palmrest with touchpad
2 High Capacity batteries
2 AC adapters
Misc internal parts
old Motherboard.
I've had the laptop for a while, and it'* probably best termed a desktop replacement. Overall condition is good, but shows wear on the top from being set upside down a lot. It works perfect, and will be formatted before being sold. I replaced the motherboard about 4 months ago because the original was acting funny. I also cleaned the dust out of the inside while I had it opened. It is on the heavy side, coming in at 7.5 lbs. And I should have the original manuals/CDs which would come with it as well as a COA for XP Home. No OS will be loaded unless I find the Original CD'*, then XP home will be installed.
Oh, and the batteries will last for 2.5-4 hours, depending on the type of use. Watching a DVD will usually get you through the whole DVD.
Only issues:
Power plug is a little loose on the new motherboard. Still work fine to charge, and use, just have to get it into position first.
case has scratches.
runs warm like most laptops. Recommend a laptop cooler if using for more than a desktop replacement.
I am only considering selling because I have another laptop and do not use this one anymore. That being said, I'm in no hurry to sell it either. Wouls like to get around $450 for all, $380 for just laptop, battery and power supply. But am open to reasonable offers. Shipping extra.
I did look up the price of an internal wireless card for this, and one can be had for $15 on ebay, but that'* your choice.

this is a terrific deal I think. ebay has them going for the same price with half the ram and a smaller hard drive.
with a 7200 rpm hard drive for 80 bucks this would be a fast box.

Yea, that one is also a 2.0ghz where mine is a 2.4ghz. I was going to see if my roommate could fix the power adapter, but he just left for home for a week and a half. If I still have it then, then it might be fixed. If it doesn't sell, then I'll probably use it as my desktop computer...
