Definitions of freezing fog on the Web:

* is when liquid fog droplets freeze to surfaces, forming white rime ice. This is very common on mountaintops which are exposed to low clouds. It is equivalent to freezing rain, and essentially the same as the ice which forms inside a freezer which is not of the "frostless" or "frost-free" type.
encyclopedia.laborlawtalk.com/Fog

* a fog of supercooled water droplets, freezing on impact with any solid surface.
http://www.advancedforecasting.com/w...rglossary.html

* A fog the droplets of which freeze upon contact with exposed objects and form a coating of rime and/or glaze.
amsglossary.allenpress.com/glossary/browse

* Used to describe the phenomena when fog is present and the air temperature is below 0°C. It is reported as "FZFG" in an observation and on the METAR.
www.indiaweather.in/gloss_f.asp

* Fog is cloud in contact with the ground. It occurs when moisture from the surface of the Earth evaporates; as this evaporated moisture moves upward, it cools and condenses into the familiar phenomenon of fog. Fog differs from clouds in that fog touches the surface of the Earth, while clouds do not. ...
