The kids school has been shut down for the day!!! Andrew came waltzing in the door at 12:00 PM announcing that he had been sent home for the rest of the day. And like any good parent, I right away thought "WHAT THE HELL DID HE DO". But as it turns out he did nothing wrong. The town has been working on the water lines around town and of course the one place where they had to be extra careful is the one place where they hit and broke a water line. What a sight, water shooting straight up into the air. Now the school has no water and all the kids must be sent home. It is crazy over there, and now I am here fielding calls for the school looking for kids (who do not belong to me) whom they think have come over to my house....which is not the case :?

That'* odd. A school near me is off today for the same reason.

i am out of school, dont have to worry about that. I got out the on the 20th.

I'm sure the kids just hate school being out :P

Wow -still in school?!!?! How long does school stay in session there in Canada?
Most of the schools here in Minnesota are pretty much done, with the exception of a handfull that go until Thursday or Friday.

the hs I am at goes until june 17th so close yet so far from finishing HS.

School runs here until end of June :? I don't know why, they do nothing the last month, except field trips and stuff. Yes I am the neighbourhood mom, I don't mind having the kids around, it is feeding all of them that gets a little out of control. I go shopping and the next thing I know, I am out of everything again!!!!

I am not sure if there will be school tomorrow, Andrew'* class has a field trip and I am driving.

Normally I would agree with you.....The kids coming home messed up my schedule!!!! But it wasn't that there was too much water, it was that there was no water at all. So the kids could not flush the toliets nor could they get water from any of the fountains, so, it was deemed unsafe to have the school open.
