Default Firefox...neato

I just downloaded FireFox 1.0 and wow. I read a thing about it being faster with loading webpages but this is ridiculous. I'm liking it. Only thing I've noticed so far (5min of use) is the curser doesn't blink which is kind of weird, and some things like the box I'm typing in right now look a little funny because I think they tried to add a half-*** 3d effect. I'm sure I can turn those off somewhere, just an initial thought though...How many of you are using this? Any useful settings you guys have found?

I use firefox.. I know what you are talking about on the cursor not blinking.. I like it, uses less CPU cycles. I don't remember encountering the text box problem you have on windoze, though. I'm all about Opensource.. Opera isn't, not to mention it isn't even free [or am I thinking of their mail program?].. and I don't remember it being cross-platform, so not like I could use it, anyways.

I just switched over to Firefox earlier this month once I saw that the plugins that I requred for the transition had been updated to work properly with Firefox. There are still somethings that I don't care for in Firefox, but I'm giving it a fighting chance. I was using Maxthon (was MyIE2) and was VERY happy with that. Firefox seems to have better adblocking now that I have my config all setup properly and its popup blocker is more refined than Maxthon. It is alittle more difficult to get used to the interface as I had my tab close button on the opposite side in Maxthon and there is no way to move it in Firefox, but all in all, it was a pretty smooth transistion.

I can definitely say this. Browsing this forum and others has definitely gotten faster with Firefox!

I use opera. IMHO opera is simpler than firefox. Only downside with opera is that it does have a VERY small ad banner, that you can get rid of for a small fee. I don't even notice it though.

I'm going to be trying here shortly. I'm setting up a Linux server on my other machine right now, and am going to load up Apache, MySQL, and a phpBB possibly.

I'm buzzing with excitement about it all.
