Default Finally, a working laptop

For the past several months my laptop has not had a working WiFi. Had several friends look at it, all IT guys, no luck. I used to do IT for a living, I couldn't figure it out. Even Tommy logged in to my computer and look around, no luck. We finally decided to back up the computer and format. I started that yesterday. This morning I formated the drive and reloaded the operating system. 13 hours to do the backup. 2 hours to format and load Windows. Then 9 hours of updates. Ya, 9 hours. Nearly 150 updates were needed. And more reboots then I care to count. But with 2 full days of dealing with this, the laptop is working again.

I have installed just about all my programs. Not that I had a lot on this computer. Firefox, AVG, and my HP tuners. Installed drivers, and all is working. Happy me. This means I can take the laptop to the hotel tomorrow and it will work. Darn hotel don't have cat5, only WiFi.

It'* vista home premium. The computers not even that old. Guess when you program like Microsoft, you need a lot of updates to fix it.
