Default Finally got my new air compressor

After a long save up, donating plasma, working on cars, etc. I finally went to get my air compressor. I walk in, grab a cart and go to pick up the one I figured I would get. Out of stock. So I looked at the other one I wanted, they have one. The flow is a little less, really not much at all. But something didn't sit right with the one that was out of stock. The compressor was smaller and was direct drive with the motor. The one I got cost a little more, but had a much larger cast iron compressor and was belt drive. I load it up on the cart, and off I go.

In the parking lot I go to load it up. That'* not going to fit in the back door. So I open the trunk, flip it in, nope, not even close. Now what will I do? There'* a lady loading her truck up next to me, I look over and say in a real meek voice. Would you mind going ab out a mile out of your way? She said no problem. Yaaa, :Thumbs We load it up and she follows me home and I get it in the shop. I offer her $5 for her time. She says no thanks. I say are you sure, I don't mind. She said just pay the kindness forward. I said, I guess all the help I give others came back to me. She smiled and said guess so. There really are a few good people left in the world.

So, here it is.

Yep, I'm happy, got a good compressor now, no more get 4 lugs off and then wait. :Thumbs

Nice! I just picked up a Sears 1.6HP, 33 gal, 160PSI, 4.0 SCFM at 90psi. It came with a 3/8 ratchet, impact gun and accessories. I'm not sure why I waited so long.

It'* refreshing to hear that there are still some kind and decent people in the world that would go out of their way to help someone they don't even know.

Now...pay it forward Dan!

This one is 5.7 @ 90 and 7.0 @ 40. max 155 psi. And it'* quite. I ran my die grinder until it turned on. It looked like it was falling behind real slowly @ 120 but I have the regulator set @ 100. So it should keep up good.

Funny. I thought about a slightly larger pulley on the motor to spin the compressor a little faster.

If it'* running 5.7HP on a 120v circuit, not a good idea. Whats the amperage? I betting close to your circuit load. I have a Sears 5 HP that likes to kick a 15 amp breaker. And a sure thing on an extension cord.

I put it on that side of the shop so it was on it'* own circuit. I think it'* all 20 amp in there.
