Guys, please can I have your honest feedback on this...
As some of already know I have been trying for a little while now to get this website properly off the ground which I am running with a friend: http://www.street-car.net/
It'* a forum community for car enthusiasts everywhere conbined with a specifications database. Our policy with the forum is simple - it'* you're a car enthusiast you're welcome here, regardless of what car you drive or what kind of cars "float your boat". No-one is made to feel unwelcome.
Plenty of people visit and view our specs database, which is proving really popular. However, our problem to be honest is that we are currently finding it difficult to attract new members to the forum and we have no clue why. To be honest I'm finding it all a bit disheartening. We dedicate a lot of our time to the site. We have completely revamped the homepage and I think the site is looking pretty good if I may say so. I really can't think of anything else we can do to improve the site. We do have a good few loyal regular members who keep active and they're a great bunch and very friendly people. Despite this attracting new people to join in the fun on the forums is proving more of a challenge. Any idea where we are going wrong?
Would love you hear your honest opinion of the site so please click on the link above and have a browse of the site and forums. What do you honestly think of the site? Is there anything else we can do to make the site better and more attractive? Any feedback including constructive criticism is very welcome. If you do like the site and want to join then that'* even better, we'd appreciate the support!

General talk about anything and everything to do with all types of cars.
Like here for instance. subject: Bonnevilles
don't give up though. Even BC didnt catch on that quick.
Yeah, I agree with Jim. You at least need some kind of hook to bring them in. Even if keeping with just general car talk, find something to put there that makes it THE place to go for it.

Thanks for joining VigCS!
The internet is a small world!
Thanks for the words of support guys.
I have thought long and hard about some kind of "hook" to make Street-Car.net THE site for car discussion but I'm rather stumped. About the only thing I can think of is making people register before they can view the car specifications pages but I really didn't want it to come to that as I wanted the specs to be a freely accessible resource for the benefit of everyone. What do you think?

I don't know I think I might catch on just cause of the fact most people own differant makes and models of vehicals, at that site you don't have to join 2, 3, or how ever many forums to get info on the cars sitting in you'r driveway.

But I do think your forum is a great place, Saturn Simon. It is a very friendly environment, and I joined.
ya I understand that ga93sle but most people on here aren't going to leave because they end up making friends and find out how much of a help and friendly place it is, I know I'm not going anywhere, been helped out on a few things. I think most people put the BC link in there sigs if they belong to another forum I know I did when I joined the 4runner forum, just like I put theres on here.
