Default Fake Emails From Paypal

If you get an email from PayPal; please verify it'* from them. I have gotten a lot of spoof email'* and can sometimes tell. Anyway'*, I was making a payment and the thought came to mind to check with them. Sure enough, it'* a problem.

From the PayPal website:

"What is a fraudulent email?

A fraudulent (spoof) email pretends to be from a well-known company, such as PayPal or eBay, in an attempt to get personal information from you. People who send spoof emails hope to use your information - such as credit and debit card numbers or account passwords - to commit identity theft.

You can prevent spoof from affecting you

Spoof, or "phishing," emails - and the spoof websites often associated with them - are deceptive in appearance. However, they contain content that reveals they're fake. The most important thing to do to protect yourself is be able to spot this misleading content."

Here is the link:
https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/websc...-spoof-outside

I sent them three emails and they all came back as fraudulant.

If anything, foreward the email you got from them and it comes back in less than 2 mins.
spoof@paypal.com

They reply you get will let you know one way or another.

Be Safe!!!

I get these stupid things all the time. I report them to that e-mail address you supplied every time. I buy a lot of stuff online, so it doesn't really surprise me that I get so many...

I still don't understand how people fall for this. Verifying it is as easy as hovering over the link.

I was trying to think of a short way to put that this morning. Can you do a print screen and show everyone what you mean

People are stupid.... That'* all. You could sell them a bridge in Israel if you offered it to them for $30.00. It'* sad and simple. I used to get e-mails like that, but my lovely ISP e-mail put up a program with postini and now I no longer get junk mail. I get a message every so often when enough of it builds up, go check, make sure none of it is real e-mail. If it is, I approve the sender and don't worry about it anymore. Come to think of it, I haven't gotten a junk-mail update lately. I wonder if they've given up on me?

I have pulled IP addy'* in the past, traced the ISP and called them about it. I know you can hide your true IP but it'* a starting point.
