Why don't you all call it what it really is..

Messed up that a site would show everyone something like that. Really.. if they won't admit to their site being a dating site or for hooking up.. why show the world who you have been messing around with on their site?

Facebook really apologized with a big letter today. They added some more privacy features but have not yet allowed us to completely remove newsfeed stories.

Call me crazy, but I really don't mind that much. It only shows activity to your friends, and it is actually kind of cool that people know what you write on other peoples walls, otherwise only a select couple people would know about it, but now all your friends know and see it. It has also shown me that a couple people I know are on facebook because it shows my other friends adding them as friends. You shouldn't have any information that is THAT sensitive anyway.

You really don't want Sally knowing about Alice and Alice shouldn't know about Stacy.

At least you can keep the calendar hidden when each is over..that'll keep you out of trouble. But publishing the details..that'* bad.

It'* not a "hooking up" site. It'* more for friends networking. You can find people in your classes, interests etc. It allows you to keep up with your friends on a reasonable basis, and if they graduate you still have a good portal. etc etc

I don't have facebook so I am not aware of what you all are talking about but I think that it is just like myspace from the way you all describe it and well I am on there but I think it is not cool to have your business out there. That is why I use myspace as a jumping off point and that is about it. It is cool to find ppl but email is a hell of a lot better IMO more safe and well that is my .02 for today

Well if nothing else, it'* gotten Facebook in the limelight-it'* usually My Space with the press. Seriously, it'* all anyone talks about around campus, around the internet and on the news. I liked the comment on one of the news shows last night about how ironic it is that the generation the puts information on the internet like they coudln't care less about their privacy is suddenly in an tizzy because their privacy has been "violated".
