We ALWAYS had issues with windshields when we lived in Idaho. Especially on the pass to the Portland area on I-84. My insurance has free glass coverage, and so far in MN i haven't needed it.

Although I'd love a new WS, mine is pitted to hell.

I'm totally with you on that! My windshield is original and pitted to hell too. If I ever got a new windshield I'd want the true HUD windshield. I have free glass, but who knows if they'd pay for the real HUD WS.

Well, my company'* trucks shouldn't throw rocks, the trailer tires are usually half bald...
BTW, Ohio is a snow/salt state, but they brine the roads here, so it helps keep them clear before the plows get out.

California has no law regarding gravel trucks needing to cover their payload. Every one of my family'* cars has a crack in the windshield (we replace it almost yearly). My mom'* audi has a dent in the hood, as well as my dad'* Jag. All the construction they do leaves the roads covered in tiny rocks. :(

I know they have laws around here. My uncle drives a granite truck (flatbed trailer) and the DOT pulled him over because he had DIRT on his trailer.

Summer here is just as bad. Construction is very high here and sometimes gravel trucks don't tarp their load. So you get pelted with 1/2 inch pebbles. Our landscape work truck is an 03' GMC Sierra and the hood is just covored with chips and a winshield a year is the rule.
