End of an Era!! No more car audio! TRADED FOR A NEW TOY!!
Why...do you think police can't trace that back? That looks shady. You should take the adult approach and contact the mother. Talk to them both and state what occurred. If she has the title, as to see it. It'* very infrequent that people still have the cert of origin on a quad. And yet you don't need a legal hassle over a quad.
Man up, be the adult and talk to the mother. Explain calmly etc what transpired and how the son came looking for your equipment and the trade was made. You don't appear to have done anything wrong, why start now.

Here in PA at least, quad titles are a big thing. And keeping them registered and insured locally, a big item with the Police. A deal isnt a deal, and Guns put it best. You "legally wise" received stolen property by purchasing something you know is an item "Titled" And compounded this by doing so without a proper receipt of the transaction. Which in most states includes a DMV form. Your best bet is to do whatever it takes to make the Mom happy. If she goes to the Police, it'* your butt in the sling and subject to arrest; just as much if not more than the son'*. She could defer charges against him while asking they are upheld against you. Not fair? No. Right? No. But the way it is, YES. Make it a life lesson. Why would you even consider buying something like a car, quad vehicle,or boat/etc under the pretense of "I lost the Title"??? I've been around Steve. And wonder how many of your audio items have the same stigma attached to them. In the end these things can burn you and whether you know or not, most times; the penalties are nearly the same when it comes to stolen items.
