Her grandparents came over today for a barbecue. They didn't give her a Grad gift...neither did I.....she was pissed and told me to "Shut the f*** up" then stormed back into her room to go back to sleep.
You have an excellent temper. I wish I could say the same. Mine and I am sure with others, our thoughts and prayers are with you, your wife and your family.

That is exactly what I said when she complained about not getting a present.....and then she told me to "shut the **** up"

She has been thru all the Grade 12 boys.
Her new boyfriend is in Grade 11 now so she will still have him next year....if it lasts that long

Oh Paul... I don't have much to add since I'm coming in late and everyone has pretty much said it. However, I would not have let her go to the graduation. That would have been the first step. Kids don't understand that it really does "hurt me more than it does you". Case in point...I grounded Ditchhopper on his 18th bday. Yea....really. It was the hardest gutwrenching thing for me to do. But he had lied, spent the night where he wasn't supposed do, was involved in drinking and so forth.

He just turned 19. He continues to live at home (one week w/me, one week w/his father) while going to college fulltime and working fulltime as an Asst. Manager of a Valvoline. He'* on the Dean'* List. He thought that all these good things meant he could stay out and party until 3am each night. Both his father and I agreed to lay down the law - curfew is midnight every night unless he doesn't have to go to work/college the next day. We told him that if he didn't like it, he was welcome to move out of both houses. He doesn't have any other option. Abide by our rules, or get out. He'* chosen to abide by the rules.

The moral of the story: you have to set clear rules and punishment for not abiding by them.....then the hardest part is to stick to what you've promised.

I'm SO proud of you Paul, I've never met you and you've never met me, we know who each other is yet I feel like you're my brother and I'm extremely PROUD that you finally took a stand. Now like in golf, once you hit the ball, you gotta follow through

Jessica has been asking for a piercing for a while now, and I have said no, not until she can prove to me that she can keep her grades up, and she can make good choices and she is mature enough to handle it. We decided that when she is 16 we will discuss it, and she can try to convince us at that time.
You may be tougher than I was with Chynna when she was Jessica'* age......is she 14 or 15 now?

Chynna got her piercings and tatoo when she was 17.

When she was 15 that'* when she started her really surprising change.

I need to tell this long story right now but this will give you all a little info about the kind of girl she is.

I remember we were in Vancouver on a weekend holiday to see the Fireworks show at English Bay. 500,000 people on the Beach. We were planted on a blanket and she wandered off to get something to eat or go to the washroom. You know what it'* like being in a huge crowd in another city away from home. Very nervous about getting split up. We had to get there early to find a good spot. A few hours went by and it started to get dark. Chynna wasn't back yet. By this time the crowd was so thick we couldn't even move off the blanket. I watched the show but didn't enjoy it because Chynna was not there. As soon as the show ended we were surprised and relieved that she showed up especially with that huge crowd trying to leave. If you've never experienced it, you should....wild time. Police would have been my call if she didn't show.

But that was not the end of it.

We asked her where she was and she says she was doing motion picture interview with a Movie director.....she had aspirations of acting.
I didn't think much of it, so we fought our way back to the hotel.

We stayed at the 2400 Motel on Kingsway. If you ever saw that movie with Kurt Russel and Susan Archette, "3000 miles from Graceland".....that'* the Hotel where a few scenes were shot. It has separate little houses spread out over a large area.

So we go to bed around 1:am Wife and I in the room and Chynna and Victor in the main room on the twin beds.
Sleep in I told the kids, we don't want to wake up until at least 7:am
I had to pee around 6:am, got up and as I was going to bathroom noticed a funny looking lump on Chynna'* bed. Pulled back the sheets and .......just pillows and clothes....NO Chynna
WTF
Wife and I are starting to panic.
Where was she.

Just about to call the police and the door cracks open. By this time it'* almost 7:
Chynna peaks in and is caught red handed.
Busted......and she is swaggering with alcohol on her breath.

Where were you both wife and I scream.

She tells us that the movie producer gave her his card and told her to call because there was a private party at a mansion and there were opportunities to network.

She went to a nearby Gas station at 1:am and called him. He came and picked her up and took her to this upscale party by invitation only somewhere in Vancouver. She doesn't know where.

Then when it'* time to come back she does know where the Hotel is but only that it was in this Movie. So they rent the movie and the guy recognizes it then drives her back.

I can't begin to explain my feelings at that time.

.....and it got worse from then on..... :?
