Oh well, grassroots, rural, white America will dictate the leadership of the US it seems, while the metropolitan, minority support Democratic thinking. The Democratic party needs a "character" candidate, not an well educated, well spoken, global thinking leader.
You got your cowboy...now its time for George to stay looking heavily at the global community while fixing the deficit, creating jobs and doing something about social services in the US.
But I'm just an ignorant Canadian...

Just joking, man. But, hey, as a Bush supporter, I have to represent, right?

I would really love to share my reflections on the whole election, however I do not feel BC is the place to get to political :P
I wish my American friends the best of luck

Thanks man And I'm willing to admit that with both parties, regardless of who wins, we're definitely going to need it

Actually, you probably are more in tune with the American political and economic situation than most Americans are!

Nothing against Jim, of course

Like said above, I, too, believe that it is sad that about the only thing I can tell you about Canadian politics is there'* some guy who I'm sure has a name who runs the country and they call him a prime minister like in England. :?

On "other" forums all I read is hardcore Republicans (or those who voted GWB) telling any CDN with an opinion to "f*** off, you stupid CDN. you dont know anything about us.." which is the furthest from the truth.
I'm sure some here would LOVE to say that...problem is site rules dictate that this behaviour is not condoned.

On the otherhand, just because I don't know what the heck is going on in Canada, doesn't mean I don't care. I have a hard enough time trying to tackle what is going on here.

Points taken, however grassroots Americans ( god I love that term!) need to open up the blinders a bit and realize there is a world out there and you are being watched.
Granted, the world can be very opinionated about this current American adminstration because of what it is doing around the world for the sake of American safety. But lets not stray to far from the topic at hand.
GWB has a MONUMENTAL task of uniting the polarized nation that is called the US and hopefully we can see more peaceful resolutions to the worlds problems.
I think we can all agree on that, no matter who voted for who.
