I am an avid ebay user... more of a buyer than seller, but I've done both. I am looking for some very specific classic car hubcaps (for my '69 Executive) on ebay lately, so I'm e-mailing LOTS of sellers to ask specific questions about a matching product they have. And yes, there are a LOT of hubcaps sold on ebay. Here'* an example of what I've been getting from sellers:
Me (to seller): Hi there, I'm interested in these hubcaps. What size are they? What year of vehicle are they from? Make/model? Do the caps have any rust or pitting? Are the attachment clips in good shape? Will they mount to any standard steel wheel, or do they need any special fittings? How much would shipping cost to my zip code (provided)? If these caps will not fit my '69 Pontiac, do you have any others available in 15"? Thanks!
Seller response: It'* a 14" wheel. Thanks for looking.
Huh?!? For one thing, I can't believe people sell hubcaps and wheels without listing what size they are. Am I a psychic? Secondly, I asked 6-7 separate questions that are all quite relative to classic car hubcaps IMHO, and I get back a canned response that barely gives one answer. ARGH!
All I ask is that if you are going to sell something on ebay, list ALL the information you have about it... and if you get questions, at least acknowledge them even if you don't know or have the answer!
Thank you for listening. I feel better.
