Default Ebay Question

I placed a $9.95 bid which had no reserve on a CD Changer for my wife'* car which was ending today. There were no other bids on this auction so I felt I had a good chance since I raised my bid to $20.01. Today I received an email from EBay with this message.

"eBay Bid Cancellation Notice - Item

Dear eBay Community Member,
The bid that you entered for the item (200192820066) has been cancelled. You can view the reason provided for the cancellation by selecting the (bid history) link from the individual item page."

I went to the item and saw this message:

"The seller ended this listing early because of an error in the minimum bid or reserve amount."

How can the seller cancel my bid if there was no reserve and they changed there mind on how low they wanted to sell it? Complaining to Ebay won't help since I presently have a claim for a non shipper. In other words I paid for an item over 2 months ago and never received it, even with insurance. The seller isn't responding to numerous messages or EBay and Paypal claims and I still can't get my money.

I don't get Ebay and I've been purchasing there for years.

All you can really do is give a bad comment on the user and it will show up any time they sell an item. They do have a right to change their mind. Perhaps it was sold outside Ebay?

I can't leave feeback since I wasn't allowed to purchase the item.

If the seller is allowed to withdraw the item at any time once a bid has been placed, then what is the purchase of setting a reserve price? The way I see it, if you don't sell it for what you want, just take it off the auction. That'* what this seller did. That'* what I don't understand.

you cant do much about it.... the seller has every right to end the auction early upto 12 hours before the auction is finished the seller can do what ever he wants.. so yeah he sold it locally and got more then your $10 bid.. it sucks but yeah the sellers have rights..

Personally, I only look for Buy It Now options, anything else is just a waste of time and you end up being disappointed over half the time.

Sorry to hear he pulled the bid Frank, have you looked locally for that part?

The difference in price between the buy it now and the bidding was $125.00. Maybe that'* why they pulled it.

I don't use those programs myself so do some research on any you might be interested in. I just knew they were out there because my coworker uses one. He'* not in today sadly, so I don't know which one he uses.
