Duffer is 100% correct.
Only differences in his truck vs mine is that he has a K&N and I have a Common Rail 24 Valve.....where as he has the normal 24 Valve Cummins.

John is dead-on... Diesel tuners make a HUGE difference. They add 10x the power and torque of a tuner on a gas motor. If you use a DiabloSport or Banks tuner (or any of the other big name brands) you'll see enormous gains out of a diesel, whereas a tune on a 3800 might yield 5-10hp. With just exhaust and a Banks Six-Gun tuner a friend of mine ran a 13.9 with his 2005 F250 Superduty. Absolutely amazing stuff.
I'm holding off on mods till atleast next summer, maybe a lil longer due to having a good warranty still.. But exhaust, chip, etc will take this lil dub a long way into the 13'*...
But yes, diesels are ridiculously easy to get power out of, it'* just using it
