I don't think I have done anything really stupid. The system I am on right now, didn't always have a case, so I just had the mobo and all that stuff sitting upright against my wall, with all the guts hanging out. Other than that, I think not switching to Linux sooner... and not backing up! Damn, I miss those **** movies and pirated software.

I dropped a laptop at work, in front of my boss. Bought him some Chineese food and it was all better then.

I can beat you...I downloaded (and installed) the same virus three times in the matter of a couple hours.

In the past 11 years or so I've used computers, the stupidest thing I have ever done was burn out 200 bucks worth of DDR memory. I set some parameters improperly in the BIOS, and when I restarted the computer, the memory was toast. Luckly I had it warrantied.

Another thing I have done was lost my Windows partition when I tried to do a dual boot on Linux and XP. Luckly I had a Ghost image of my Windows partition so I didn't lose my files.

i saw a topic similar to this on another forum, and some of the funny stuff they said:
"hot swapped" a cpu(it supposedly worked after the system was restarted)
installed windows
dropped monitor on ford minivan from window
ran pc without cpu heatsink

How 'bout chucking one off the roof of a 30-story office building?
Still had everything connected, tower, monitor, keyboard, printer, mouse, all cables.
One of the secretaries got a new one and decided to chuck the old one, I had a suggestion for where.
Believe it or not, the mouse still worked!
