I don't think I have done anything really stupid. The system I am on right now, didn't always have a case, so I just had the mobo and all that stuff sitting upright against my wall, with all the guts hanging out. Other than that, I think not switching to Linux sooner... and not backing up! Damn, I miss those **** movies and pirated software.

In the past 11 years or so I've used computers, the stupidest thing I have ever done was burn out 200 bucks worth of DDR memory. I set some parameters improperly in the BIOS, and when I restarted the computer, the memory was toast. Luckly I had it warrantied.
Another thing I have done was lost my Windows partition when I tried to do a dual boot on Linux and XP. Luckly I had a Ghost image of my Windows partition so I didn't lose my files.

i saw a topic similar to this on another forum, and some of the funny stuff they said:
