You can argue topics, but in a mature manner. Flaming is an extreme arguement that often ends up with many hostile members. Arguements can occur, as long as its civil.

I disagree. Flaming IMO is baseless attacks against someone personally. Talking about somebodys mother for instance when you dont know them, or attacking someones ethnicity or religous beliefs, things along those lines. Heated arguments can, will, and should happen for the sake of the community. Nobody wants false information disseminated on the forum. It'* when those arguments turn away from the facts at hand and into baseless mudslinging that it becomes a problem.

EXACTLY Todd. What people need to understand is that nobody listens to arguments, no matter how well based in fact they are, if the attitude of the 'arguer' is sour. Arguments on these types of topics must be based in fact. If you can't bring facts to the table, then what you're doing is basically raising the BS flag.....which in effect causes the other party to get defensive......and then it goes wild.

Arguing with respect and maturity is the way to be heard and understood.

Something else we tend to do.

Deal with the issues that try to bring us down behind the scenes so that we maintain the storefront image that the owner has requested.

Since its not encouraged why bother advertising it.

And thats the way it is.

I agree with the overwhelming majority of the users here: the administrative staff is doing an excellent job. I am no longer very involved with the day-to-day administration of the site, but that doesn't worry me. Why? I implicitly trust the administrators to do the right thing, to do their best, and to maintain the pleasant feel of the forums.

Not in my wildest dreams did I imagine that the forum would grow to its current size. When the forum was new, I would read every single post. Of course, it was easier back then because there were only a couple of posts per day. Nowadays it is impractical for me to read and manage everything, which makes me glad that we have such a stellar administration team.

Day in and day out, the admins and mods devote countless hours to the maintenance of the forums. They do it not for money -- BC has no income let alone a payroll. They do it not for the glory. No, they do it out of common interest. The do it to teach others. They do it out of a desire to help the Bonneville community.

The Gearheads are awesome too.

For sticking with it in good times and bad, despite all of the petty bickering, flaming, ignorance, name calling, threats, and everything else, the staff deserves my utmost respect and appreciation.

The guy has 8 stars and walks around like he owns the place...

Please don't ban me!

The staff would have nothing to do, if they weren't told how to run the place, by a good set of rules

Hey, I remember those days! Makes you feel kind of old...

I voted that the staff do well the majority of the time. There have been a few times when I really need to question sanity levels and some calls being made (you know exactly what i am talking about bill ). However i've been here pretty much since the site opened, so I've watched it go from zilch to this. Heh, i've been here longer than ALL the mods, and seen just about everything, and just about everybody'* own way of dealing with it.
This site isn't like some *others* - for the most part its a good group that is supportive, but there'* the occassional sell out which throws things off balance. You can't do anything about those people. I find sometimes it'* a 'holier than thou' attitude i'm getting from the mods (not all) because they try so hard to keep things clean but intentions are good.
The only advice I would give is to listen to your members more. (Namely, me! :P lol jk) this post is a good start. BUT...if someone does have an issue do you think they will post it? Not everyone is so outspoken and honest, especially wanting to be careful not to cross that "over the line" line....something to think about.
uh, yea, well, it'* 4:56AM at work and if i can recall what i wrote tomorrow i'll be surprised
