you prolly are using an avi codec (non compressed) or mpeg 1or2. Try using an mpeg4 or wmv codec. It will be smaller

you don't "switch" to mpg4, you have to encode to mpeg 4. DIdn't you camcorder come with Ulead Video Studio? A good place to get your feet wet in this subject is www.videohelp.com

you can also record to memory stick in 320x240, or 160x112 mode. the later will give you smaller sizes. Are you talking movies from tape or stick?
