They get the info from your credit reports. What you need to do is call the 800 opt out number on the applications (1 call for all 3 credit agencies) or you can go to this website:

Sure does give satisfaction doing this, doesn't it BUT, PLEASE, be VERY CAREFUL.... somethings are illegal to mail. I remember hearing something a few years back where someone mailed a "box" and got into a boatload of trouble. If that happens I imagine that you won't be the one getting any satisfaction in the end.... so please be careful

:

ok just cause you never gave your number out to anyone doesnt mean the compnay doesnt already have your adress. all they need is 2 outs the 3 to get the 3rd
name addy phone number

doenst matter if your info is unlisted

and the do not call list is a joke.

ok now i will explain. i was a asst shift manger at a profes harrasment company (telemarketing company for 5 yr)
the nat do not call list (dnc list) is a joke cause all that stoped was cold calling. meaning you have to have some sorta business releastion ship with them.
if you have any sorta bussiness releationship with them in the past 6 months they can call you all they want. every time you fill out an app for a credit car, car loan, or even your electric or cable bill you have a business releation ship with them.

even if you ask to be placed on there dnc list they have 90 days to remove you from that list

and businesses work together, if your name is on one list its on about 100 more.

and even if you do get your name off that list, once you make your next payment you are put right back on there all over agian.
its the loop holes that the compnays found out about

and if you name is ever on a calling list its on about 5x as many mailing lists cause theres realy no way of gettin your name off them lists. even mailing them back with "remove me" never realy works.

oh and by the way thats about the amount i receive per week

If you rent a house or apartment, you'll get them. They have ways of finding out the places that are rented and send them mail regardless.

There was an article somewhere of a guy signing up purposely for a ton of junkmail and used it in his wood burning stove to heat his house. Hey, free fuel.

That would work really well if you had a PO box for your real mail and didn't have to sort any of it.

I would send it back after writing "No longer at this address" and eventually they will stop, but usually you can buy mailing lists that target certain specifics.

This site explains what kinds of mailing lists you can buy and what their process is in obtaining the info.
