My degrees are in digital electronics (degree in 1992, when the 386 was king), and Microwave communications (has nothing to do with the oven). Micro was a nightmare. Shorts look like opens, opens look like shorts. Black magic. Now I work with Lasers. Electron degrees, photon work. Go figure.

If, in 1982, computers lookedthey were going to go anywhere, I would have probably stuck with it. But at the time, they were not looking overly helpful.

The saddest part is, I almost went to a job fair at AMD in 1983. They were hiring people to train into building and designing computers.

Got another exam tomorrow. I beat the class average on the last one, but that doesn't say much for the raw score in a differential equations class.
