Indeed, that'* a problem I've noticed too. I'm open to suggestions for improving it.

In truth, I've been meaning to get around to changing the button colors for, oh, say... three years, so last night I finally took the plunge.

The old blue buttons came with the "subSilver" phpBB theme. I made most of the site have a red/gray color scheme, mostly because I really like red and silver/gray (in fact, all of my cars have been either silver or red; two have been both red and gray). Unfortunately, the subSilver buttons never really matched the red color scheme. That'* irked me for a while, but I grew complacent and didn't do anything about it until last evening. I fired up Photoshop and a few hours later, I had converted all of the buttons to red instead of blue.

I must admit that I was a bit surprised when I uploaded and activated all of the new buttons. Everything was just so... gray. Even though the change actually made things redder, I think the existing gray tones became much more noticeable. However, the new buttons are already growing on me. For better or for worse, change always seems to meet with resistance, and this is no different. Give it time. If I changed the buttons back, I think they'd look noticeably out of place.
