There is no set age limit that is going to fix the problem. If someone under 18 really wants to buy paintballs, and cant get there parents to buy them guess what guys....kids have other friends. I have friends that are over 18. Even with the 18 rule, kids find a way around it. Look at alcohol. Legal age is 21.....Most people drink before then. Heck I bet over half of my high school has drank before. It doenst matter that there are kids like me who arent going to abuse them. No one looks at this side. I'm not going to lie I HATE, i mean HATE when people generalize that all kids/teenagers are bad. Almost every time something happens to someones car on here everybody comes down on teens. Lets overlook the good teens, and punish them all. Thats real adult like . You know what sucks the most...If your under 18 you cant do anything about laws passed to restrict you. You cant vote, so no one gives a damn.

Hint... im only 23yo

And NO one in this Thread has Said that All Teens now a days are bad. No one.

And i even said that there are some "SOME" kids these days that like to Hurt cars, or peoples property.

And if you think about it. a good amount of these kids to do like to make trouble, there mom and dad do not know about it and normally there friends are there same age. so they arnt going to be able to buy them
But like it HAS been SAID on page 1 that this Rule is not going to stop all of them from buying paint balls.

ALSO, This is not a law. its just a rule at Dicks and some other retailers.

and the only reason your getting so made right now is because your under 18.
Like i said to someone else not on the forum. Stop complaining and just have someone buy them for you.
Now if this was a Law then yes theres something to Get all really upset about. but its not. so Chill out.

This thread was just to see if people think "KIDS" should be able to Buy something that can Kill & destroy privily property.

So are you saying you dont want to hear from people under 18 (the people restricted), you want to hear from adults (not restricted)? Are you saying I shouldnt be mad at this rule even though it effects me?

Im saying that almost every person under 18yo is going to be made about ANY rule or law that makes it so they cant buy or do something.
And they most of the time dont think of the reasons WHY the Rule or law was put in place. In Stead like your saying and doing you take it as a threat and Say how bad and wrong it is and how everyone is Agents Kids these days.

You goto look as WHY they did it not on HOW it effects you.
I never got Pisssed that when i was 19yo that i couldn't go out and by a Beer or something. I just found a way around it and i knew that its kinda a good law.
But that law is not what where talking about in this thread.

*EDIT*
and by the way... Notice that the only thing you Replied about is the under 18yo thing and You.

If you would have been 18 when they changed the drinking age to 21, and couldn’t buy beer anymore when before you could, I bet you would have been mad.

I never said everyone is against kids. I just said that sometimes all kids get lumped together as bad when only a few do something wrong.

There are good points to 18+ rules like the paintballs, but there are also bad. I know kids can cause harm and damage when they are irresponsible. But, it’* not right to punish me for what a few have done. That’* my point.

BTW, I was referring to paintballs in my previous post. You only want to hear about adults feelings about banning them from buying, not how kids feel about getting banned from buying them.

You are not affected by the rule the same way I am, so obviously you won’t feel the same way I do. We have different opinions on this, and I'm going to leave it at that. I've got my opinion, you've got yours. Arguing wont do us any good.

Sorry wrong again.

You think dont know how it feels to have to wait to me of age to get or do something.?
Its not like im 35 or 50yo. i was 17 only 6 years ago.

And so your saying that its ok to let any have Beer and anyone to Have Guns and other thing just because Someone under 18 thinks that its unfair to them because they are not like that.
Welcome to life where its not fair. Because of the people in the world that want to do harm and do bad things we have to make Stupid laws and rules to stops the Bad apples from doing bad things.

Now like it said 4 Times so far in this thread.

THIS IS NOT A LAW!!!!!

This is just a store rule so its not like you cant have someone like your Brother, Friend, or mom or dad go buy then for you. and Thats not illegal so there is nothing wrong with that.

and Yes im looking at this from a "adult" point of view because until you are 18, you are not a "adult" in the USA. and you can not do many, MANY things. not just paint ball. or Drinking.

Yes, You and your friends or people you know and most of the people on this forum are good kids and people and will dont harm other people and peoples property.
BUT..... Thats not every kid and not every person.

Us good people have to make stupid laws and rules to "help" protect our selfs from the Mean or bad people.

Now just to make sure you know how i think. I wish it was easier to get Hand Guns. Not have to wait months or years to get the permit.
I think in every state you should be able to carry you hand gun if you have a permit.

I also think the drinking age should be 19 like Canada.

But i do think that just like BB guns and rifles and Blow guns and things like that EI Paint balls you should have to be 18 to buy.
Most people i know are over 18 that play paint ball.

Boys, don't make P'Mom get involved!
Serioulsy though, I think the point here is that this in NOT meant to be a punishment to eh good kids, but a deterent to the not so good ones. Protection for the greater good of a society as a whole. If it were meant as a punishment, than those under 18 would have to pay more or pay a tax or something.
Simple truth is that a 18 year old has somehat better judgment than a 14 year old does.
Which brings us to the argument about having differnet points of view because of the age difference. Yes, it effects to two of you differently, but also it proves the point that people see things differently at diferent ages.
If I think back to my younger days I am pretty amazed at how stupid I was in doing certain things.
Not saying young kids are stupid.....just that they see the world diferently than someone who is a bit older, look at at all the former hippies who became yuppies!
That'* life.
Now, kiss and make up!

Thanks tallbump...i dont think me or bandit wants the rath of pmom. I just want to clear something up though. I never said everyone should have guns or beer, and I didnt say that there was a law on paintballs. All i was trying to say (which I didnt do a good job at) was that I think 16 is a better age. Most states trust a 16 year old with a car that can kill many in one fellow swoop, but then dicks cant trust a 16 year old with paintballs.

16 in most states i think would be good.

But there are some city'* and states that most likely still want 18yo'*

one other problem with the 16yo thing.. is that how are the stores going to know if you are 16. if you dont have a Permit or DL or Valid ID there still not going to sell it to you. :?
