Default Deciding on college, down to 2, can't decide, help/input.

Well, I'm almost halfway through my Senior year and I haven't really chosen what college I want to go to yet, whereas some of my friends are already enrolled. I decided a couple weeks ago I better start seriously looking because I'm running out of time. So I got out the literature I had been collecting and I have narrowed down my choices to two colleges. The University of Northwestern Ohio and Lincoln Tech. I am looking to go into either Automotive Technology or High Performance Technology. Both of these colleges offer courses similar to what I'm looking for and they are both approx. the same distance away from home, etc.... I am in a 2 year automotive technology vocational program right now and I'm doing well, so I"m thinking I probably won't have any problem getting in to either, but you never know, we'll see.

Well, really, I know some of you here are a lot more knowledgeable on things like this than I am, but does anyone here know anything about these programs? And is there anyway you could tell me what advantages/disadvantages you see with either school. If not I understand, but both programs seem to be pretty good and I can't tell which one is better. One of my classmates in my Auto Tech class is going to Northwestern so it would be cool to room with him there and everything, but i can always just meet other people, I don't have to room with people I already know, thats just one advantage I see right now. I plan on visiting both schools within the next month or two to compare them, but i would appreciate it if some of you guys (and gals) could help me out with this. Its kind of important, and i don't really want to make the wrong decision here. (for obvious reasons)

The websites for both are:
Lincoln Tech: www.lincolntech.com
University of Northwestern Ohio: www.unoh.edu

Thanks,

Shawn

I know. I know quite a few people that have gone or go there currently and they all say its a great school, but unfortunately they don't have any auto programs, so that college is out.

BTW... I lived in GR until I was in 6th grade, then we moved to Holt. GVSU is like 10 miles from our old house.

are there any related degrees you could get, like engineering or soemthing?

I am also a senior and I can tell you that the best thing to do is to visit both, maybe sit in on a class or two. Overnights are also a great way to get a look at what the admissions office cant show you

For most programs i'd say University all the way over a tech school, however AET is different.

UnoH is a private school, but a university will give you a more rounded education with liberal arts.

However Lincoln Tech looks better for automotive by lookin at those sites.

Thanks for the replies.

Lincoln Tech is looking like it might be better for automotive, but at Lincoln tech I'm not getting anything other than automotive (which I guess could be good). At UNOH I would be getting other subjects like english, math, etc... which could benefit me in the future if I decide to switch careers. Both programs offer Associates degrees in Auto Tech. Lincoln Tech however, will let you come back and retake any courses you have previously taken there and passed for free at any time after you graduate. So ten years down the road, I can go back and retake a class that I feel I don't know enough about, and that is awesome IMO. I have to buy my own tools at Lincoln Tech, whereas they are provided at UNOH, but I get to keep the ones I buy from Lincoln Tech and I have to give the UNOH ones back, so I guess thats worth it since I'll end up buying them anyways. Like I previously said, I'm going to visit both schools to see which I like best, but right now I'm kinda leaning towards Lincoln Tech. We'll see. I keep finding more and more info on them and both of them keep looking better and better.
