Which 12-21-12 is it? Is it the Gregorian calendar? It'* two weeks ahead of the Julian calendar. Since we're discussing both the far, far Western calendars of the Aztecs and such compared with the far Eastern calendar of the Chinese, which probably was converted to the Gregorian date, this might either be dead on or two weeks apart. If you get pulled over slowing down from your 150mph run, is two weeks too long to post bail? You might be holding Bubba tightly in your arms as the world collapses around you. Aw!

Pole shifting has been going on for many millions of years. It was pole shifting that allowed geologists to document sea-floor spreading and confirm tectonic plate theory.
Lots of other things have been going on as well, like global warming followed by global cooling followed by global warming, etc etc etc.
People get upset at the idea that their beach house is washed away in a big storm when coastlines are perhaps the most changeable geologic features of our earth. And politicians in compassionate response, arrange for the rest of us to pay for losses suffered by those who are foolish enough to build there.
Geologic history suggests that constant change is here to stay.
If you want to worry about something worry about this. An easily frightened and ignorant populace led by an equally ignorant and agenda-driven media have convinced politicians to believe that they can alter geologic processes. And the bill for their attempts will be paid by you, me and our children.
Anthropogenic global warming is a great case in point. Nobel - winner Gore notwithstanding, there is no proof that humans have altered or could ever alter the climate of the earth. We can certainly pollute the air and water, we can make life nearly unlivable for humans and other species, but changing climate? It is just one more example of the incredible ego of man to believe he is the center, the cause and cure of everything.

I once saw a movie that had a line in it that said something to the effect that the human race is like a virus on the planet earth -- one that is killing it. Thinking about it, it'* true in a lot of ways. The human race has spread across the globe infiltrating every aspect of it. We hurt the natural aspects of the earth (its organs.) We are multiplying like a virus.. There are just a lot of parallels comparing the human race to a virus.
