UPDATE:

I got a call from the reporter yesterday. He said he contacted Dave Taylor and he was "very defensive." I was not surprised.

A month ago the owner said "I will send you your keys and mats shortly." When the reporter asked him why he still hasn't sent me my things, his excuse was that he was waiting for me to respond to that e-mail where he said he would send them.

That makes NO SENSE. If he was sending me my things why would he need a response? And if he heard no response why didn't he follow up and try to contact me? These are things I will say in my follow-up interview with the reporter. Regardless, I DID respond to that e-mail the same day anyway. So this guy is full of ****!.

This guy is really pushing me over the edge. The reporter said he would probably go on camera, but he is speaking to his lawyer first. So his lawyer will feed him MORE bullshit to say on air to defend himself. When the fact remains he has been completely in the wrong for the past ~ 2 months.

BS only goes so far. Even in the eyes of the law. Plus, most average viewers are naturally ging to be on your side. Really hope you get some on air time.

I may have missed it , but can you clarify exactly what angle the reporter is taking on this story? Or do I have to wait and see it? Is it that the dealer is driving peoples' consignments as personal cars?

The reporter will be defending me in the story. He will bring up the fact that my car was driven for personal use and there are 1200 more miles on the car, though I only got one phone call about someone who was interested in the car. The many items (2 hats, ceramic tiles, light bulbs, bottled water, etc) found in the car prove it was driven for personal use.

He'll also be asking why I haven't been reimbursed since this started almost 2 month ago.

I'm sure the story will be more one-sided as the investigation stories they do are to benefit the people getting screwed. The owner of the dealership will lie and turn it around to make it seem like he did nothing wrong though (instead of just sending me my things now and getting it over with).

I don't care if it'* a Sebring, mention how the Sebring wishes it had it'* own Bonneville club, or something.

or just talk to the reporter in a calm matter, then at some random point stare into the camera and scream "BONNEVILLE CLUB ROCKS"
too bad it won't be live.

His lawyer will not feed him any BS to say, if his lawyer is worth his fee. Any sensible lawyer would instruct his client not to appear on camera, and not to speak to the reporter, unless it'* to report that he just sent you your keys and a set of new floor mats, or reimbursed you for the cost of a new key and a new set of floormats. The general public won't be fooled by (of all things) lies from a **used car dealer**. His lawyer ought to know this, and unless his lawyer is a complete idiot, he should advise his client to send you your stuff or reimburse you for their cost, and make this thing go away.

You absolutely did the right thing. This is simply your typical sleazy used car salesman. A little exposure of guys like these is a great service to the unwary public, regardless of how your case ends up. I predict you will get your keys and either some floor mats or reimbursement for new floor mats.

I know it might not seem like much to you, but the dealer using your car for personal use is just an unethical business practice. The rest of us wouldn't want this to happen with our car and our property either, and I'm just really glad your efforts are going to shine some exposure light on this sleazebag. I wish in a way there was a larger financial stake for you, because I'd love to see this guy sink in small claims court.
