The Daughters pipes are frozen
A welder can use current from a welding machine to melt the water in frozen pipes. My friend had a welder come and melt his frozen pipes last week. They were solid from the curb to the meter.
must of been fun replaceing pipe with one eye.
curious? I didnt see it mentioned, is the house empty for the winter?
like a summer house? strange how so much pipe froze up.

Is this a common problem? Aren't pipes usually insulated? It gets friggen cold here and I've never heard of anyone having frozen pipes (Including those with old houses like my g/fs house circa 1905)
She probably has a working furnace and hotwater tank in her basement to keep things above freezing. My daughters furnance is in the house and the hotwatet tank was off. Its probably not enough to keep things warm enough down there. Insulation only delays freezing hence the heat tape I'll be installing.
