Fools because they choose to defend themselves. Personally I think nothing good has come from this war in IRAQ and am just tired of it.

Thier previous ruler was a bad man but at least there was order. Now loads of innocents are killed each day. Both us and them are losing.

In fear of envoking enraged tempers, I will simply agree with a "werd."

I am going to jump on this now......This could go down hill really fast and as stated before we are not getting into this. Political disscussions never do well here. I will keep it unlocked for the moment, but I am watching it very closely.

I personally think the media is to blame for a lot. If we had this type of media during WWII; I believe they would of made us look bad as well.

Don't blame the media. If it wasn't for the media, we would have no idea what the hell was going on over yonder. When I was stationed in Korea back in 97-98, North Korea did a missle launch test and we didn't know about it until the next day on CNN.

But, there are some things the media should not indulge. Like when we had the North East black out. The media published our weakest places, like powerplants, power sub-stations etc. Stuff that terrorists don't need to know. Yea, sure you could Google it, but why give them the ideas?

Personally, from a frontline stand-point, and one of those riding the fence prospectives on this place. I'd have to say whether we were here or not, No ones to say they are better off or worse off. Ive heard both prospectives in the streets here talking to the LNs[local nationals]. I guess what Im trying to say is now that Im here, the absolute only thing Im concentrating on is to make sure myself and my guys get home safe and alive. The rest of the missions we do, downtime, spending time with the interpreters[LNs], all goes on the back burner.

As for my squad and myself, we're doin good and just looking forward to home. For those wondering, I will be home for leave around the first two weeks of may

This is somewhat misinformed.

Do you know how many hundreds of thousands Saddam killed while there was 'order' in that country?

Mass graves everywhere. Ask the troops on the front lines who are EXPERIENCING the everyday NORMAL Iraqi people. The troops feel like they're doing the right thing.

What you have here is 5% of the Iraqi population (extremists) want to rule the country. So they kill THEIR OWN PEOPLE to scare them into submission.
