I thought your Contour was a POS? (like the new ones, only worse)????

You need to get that thing in TOP running condition in the drivetrain AND suspension first. Then spend about 1k on a GOOD setup, or forget.

Heh. This DOHC Zetec motor he'* talking about... it'* his current motor? If so, then yes, it'll crap out. If Focus Zetec motors bolt up to his Contour, then he might not grenade his engine.

But if he does swap out, he'll be out way more than $230

Not to mention, his transmission won't take it, period. It'* not even handling 130hp properly at the moment.
From what I know the focus zetecs and the contour zetecs are the same they have the same engine codes same compression same bore x stroke.

Whats wrong with my transmission its 100% fine it shifts amazinly smooth (before the vehicle speed sensor which literally went out today had diagnosed at autozone). Plus this transmission I found out is a aftermarket reman transmission which was installed less than 50k miles ago and was installed in 1999. I did have another transmission problem which was the range sensor that went out causing it to jump gears go into neutral and stuff like that. That was fixed for $25.

Well not after I put like 180 into repairs (mass airflow sensor, EGR valve, and vehicle speed sensor)

How much HP or seconds off your quarter mile time will the turbo get you???

I don't know if it'* available or compatible, but save up and get a Cosworth engine. Now that would be sweet!!!!!

Or better yet a bonneville.

Isn't this like the 155k mi contour that you've completely beaten the **** out of and have like 2 or 3 different sizes of tires on it? Curious...Sure I read it somewhere?

Guys I think I changed my mind about turboing the contour......its in good shape for what its been given tho i'd have to say.

My ratings: From a 1 to 5 star scale
Transmission: low miles reman aftermarket shifts butterly smooth 4 1/2 star
Engine: Not to sure about the engine hearing some valve noise now that I take a close ear at it 3 star
Suspension: Tight but back end sags slightly not bad tho. Bad cv joint giving some sqeeking over bumps now 3 star
Electrical: needs work i.e. mass air flow sensor vehicle speed sensor and EGR valve 2 star
Tires: needs a bit of work 3 different tire sizes on 1 with real bad tread wires 2 1/2 stars
Exaust: minor leakage at the flex pipe 3 1/2 star
other than that everything else is in good condition from what i can think of off the top of my head........... wow wrighting and thinking about all this kinda made me change my mind

Trust me. It won't take much boost to grenade that Contour if you intend to boost it the way you do. You'll be out a LOT of money if you want real results, and first and foremost, that'll involve yanking your current motor and maybe transmission.

Supra guys are lucky when they turbo their non-turbo cars, their manual transmissions can easily hold 350+ rwhp. You won't be.

You'll kill that CV shaft with boost. You'll need a complete exhaust, you'll need to get the engine perfect before as well.
