I don't even know why they thought it would work, think back to the roman collusiem, a large, trained adult with armor, sheild, and sword, had a slim chance of winning, an unarmed midget just isn't physiclaly capable of injuring a lion, it'd be like sending them in to destroy a boulder, just can't be done, their only chance wouldv'e been to send in enough midgets to exhaust it, and it would still be a slaughter, no idea what they were thinking.
