Course of Study
So anyone else have a problem with sticking with a course of study in college?
In HS i planned on doing Computer Engineering, but that was a little ambitious for me, so i decided on just a basic Computer Science degree, now after 1 1/2 years of college i am switching again, this time a big switch. Major in Criminal Justice, minor in Computer Forensics. Which basically means my first year and a half of college were pointless.
But I'm pretty sure i am going to stick with Computer Forensics. But that means most likely 4 more years of college. But thats ok (not paying for it, but thats another story
).
Please tell me I'm not the only one to switch majors so much.

After I got out of HS in 05 I started working on an "Computer and Electronics Engineering Technologies" degree but after almost 1 1/2 years I decided that wasn't were I wanted to go. It was a hell of a feeling not knowing what I'm doing with my schooling but knowing my current path wasn't the right one. Luckily I was interested in going more in depth with my current job and my boss/owner threw me a heck of an offer I couldn't refuse; which I'm currently trying to iron out the details on.
Keep at it man you'll find your nitch. Don't worry about switching, the time to worry is when you stop going to school and it get stuck in a dead end job.

Started out with a year in Theatre Production. then 4 years of trying to go for an electrical engineering degree (faild a few too many courses), now i've got a year of Computer Information Technology down and loving it! Keep with it, major changes are ok, Its better then doing something you don't enjoy for the rest of your lift.

It'* better to determine now that you don't like a field than when you're in it for 5, 10, or even 15 years.

Now I've been working for large corporations for over seven years....don't like it so much. All that education and money spent for nothing... I'm finding my true interests lie in real estate investing, sales, appraisal and financing.
None of that requires any formal degree.

I started out in Computer Engineering. After 2 years, i decided I really didn't like the math portion and switched to Software Engineering. When I got to my senior year, I started having more interest in electrical engineering (the other side of CE) and realized I should have stuck with CE. I ended up graduating with a SE degree and figured that I can always get my masters in EE if I wanted.
But yes, Make your changes now, as it will be much harder later on in life.

well, ive switched from Secondary Education with an emphasis in Math to Mathematics then back to Secondary Education with a minor in math and then to Math Ed.
not quite the same category as your changes, but . . .

ok good looks like i'm not the only one that was undecided.
I'm still trying to figure out how i'm going to break it to my mom seeing as she probably wont take it too well.
Oh yea and if i get accepted I'm going to Saginaw Valley State University in the Fall if anyone goes there.

(well, not really, CSCC doesn't offer Mechanical Engineering as a major)
I got some great advice from a high school teacher of mine. Get all of your core classes out of the way, like math, psychology, english, humanities, that sort of thing, so you can really take some time discovering what you like and what you don't like. That way, you're not wasting any time or money, and you're still making progress.
