I was there and watched it fist hand. He basicaly just held it half throttle until rubber burned off the tires and blow out the passenger rear quarter panel. Stock they're a high 10 low 11 second car. He drove it back to his tent where they removed the rear quarter panel and had it on display. The driver of the car is the plant manager for GM. Rumour at Carlisle was that he was given the car for the purpose of doing the burnout to win the contest and I believe he may have won. I don't remember how many Vette'* did burnouts but they pretty well just had them half throttle until the tires burned out, which took a couple of minutes. Talk about smoke, some people had a hard time breathing in the grand stands.
