Default Corrosion Control Device

Ok so I was trying to find out what was 'thunking' up high near the back of the engine compartment on my Bravada and what I find is a little box that is only half adhered to the fender behind the radiator overflow bottle. The box had a single wire going to it which led to another plug with 3 wires in it, but nothing attached. The 2 other wires led to ground and power. There was a rectangular section in the center of the firewall where something was double-sided taped on...

So anyway, the box that was clunking around is made by Auto Saver Systems, Inc. and is a Corrosion Control Device - Remote Anode... My father recently purchased a 2004 Chevy Silverado 2500 4x4 and it too came with the 2 anode electronic rust prevention system...

Do these things really work? The body of my Bravada is ABSOLUTELY rust free and I don't have a clue when the first anode fell off... The frame only has minor surface rust in the usual locations. I can't find much information about them online. Is this a dealer installed option? THIS is about all that I could find about them and these aren't made by the same company...

I know of a few hot rodders that swear by them but I'm not sure about which manufaturer they use?
The system is must for boats and salt water, they've been using them for years?

any rust on your bravada? (sounds like a personal question )

My dad told me that the dealership asked if he wanted them installed. He said they cost acouple hundred $ (couldn't remember exactly) when he bought the truck. I should give the local dealership a call and see how much they are. I'd put them on the b'ville, but probably not back on the bravada (depends on the price)...
