Default Computer problem

This is kind of hard to explain. Yoiu know if your running mutiple programs you can actually hear the computer running? Like a fan or something is running? The last couple of days my computer is running like that all the time, doesn't matter if I am using any programs at all, just constantly 'buzzing'. Any ideas on whats wrong?

Maybe the harddrive is making the buzzing? How old is it? I know my HD in the PC makes a very loud buzzing noise. It has for years. So far it hasn't crapped out on me. :?

sounds like you need to blow some dirt out of the fans. enough dust can build up on them to make them "out of balance". on newer machines if dust builds up on the cpu fins, the bios ups the fan speed to keep it cool.

Travis (Sonoma) took my idea. Pop her open and give her a dusting.

If you've never done this before, just be careful. Don't blow in there with your industrial air compressor gun. Don't go poking around in there with a shop vac. A can of air, or a good set of lungs, and a soft paint brush should be all the tools you need
