350, which included 3 books, and a little remote thingy that is pointless.

The most I ever carried was 1 large notebook, 1 folder, occasionally a book or two.

I lived in a fraternity with guys I could share books with. Cost ranged from free to $700 one semester.

My bag isn't heavy, but I need to carry two bags due to the course-mandated laptop.

I haven't bought books yet (will do shortly... they're BIG and THICK books :o )

Oh, and I also spend two hours on public transport EACH way.

win?

I hate it also. But on my budget, I just can't justify a car/insurance.

$20 a week in bus tickets > $50+ a week in gas PLUS insurance on top of that

Definitly. The campus is small enough that I walk from end to end in 15 minutes, so it'* not bad.

Although long busrides downtown can be a pain when i have my laptop in my bag with my book.*
