classic car ins.
has anyone gotten classic car ins. who from and what does it cost?
ive tried a few times in the past to get classic ins for my firebird before but got turned down for one reason or another. one said too new, most wont take modified cars, etc. was thinking about it again and i got an agreed value quote for 250 from grundy and leland west. any opinions on either company? grundy makes me nervous because the say certain modifications require "riders" which i would guess means they want more money. im liking leland west because it seems they dont care and specifically say they dont care about racing mods just if your at the track your not covered while racing. seems understandable.

So, what is the difference between historical insurance and normal insurance? With historical, are there more restrictions as far as where it is kept, how often you can drive it etc etc?

each company has there differences but the common things are locked garage, a different DD, etc. you have to provide pics and proof of those things so they figure its a weekend only type of vehicle the one company had unlimited mileage the other had different rates depending on the mileage you put on it. other than that its agreed value so if you are like me and kbb and those say your car is worth 2500 and you put 3 or 4 times that into it you can agree on a guaranteed payout before you sign up. plus you save a bunch over normal insurance.

I thought about switching but ive been with progressive sense 03 and i have ALOT of policys with them lol
and after being with them so much and having so much stuff insured i get a pretty good discount..that and when it comes to historical stuff theres no mileage limit and i dont have to take pictures or document anything..

i think hagerty wanted to fill out your life story before they give you any prices which usually means they are going to send you a bunch of junk. and i just did AM they were cheaper but i dont see anything about modified engines and that. those other quotes were cheaper to until you put in that the car is modified.
