I haven't seen them this far south. But we do have a plague of our own right now...actually get it twice a year

Nope. They are sorta like fireflies....but they don't light up. They are called lovebugs because they mate in mid-air, and stay attached while flying. And they splat easilly on cars. If you commute, washing your car everyday is a habit.

We have Cicadas up here every year, although last summer it did seem like we had more of them then usaul :? Took one in the chest while doing 60 with the windshield folded down on the Jeep last year ouch
