Default Cheap sound

My factory speakers on the Sable were shot when I bought it and Walmart had some 440w (yeah right!) 6x9 Roadmaster speakers on Clearance for $10 so I checked them out and bought them. They really only do ~30w per channel rms and the deck I have is 45wx4 peak so I guesstimated they would work ok.

So toady I got around to installing them. Popped of my rear speaker grill covers and discovered that I have 4x6 stock. <grrrr> So I had to break out the tools, pull the rear bench seat, unbolt & pull the back seat, pull the rear window trim... all to pull the rear deck cover so I can make 6x9'* fit.

Well an hour later they fit purrrfect, everything is back to looking stock, and the sound isn't that bad at all. Better than I was expecting. Now I don't have to listen to my mp3 player on the drive to/from work.

Next step is some new front speakers...LOL

I went annivesary shopping yesterday and stopped in Best Buy just to see what they had for front speakers. I scored a pair of Dual Electronics SBX654'* for $12 on clearance. They are 6.5" 4-ways, and even light up blue but I didn't hook that up.

Install was a bit tuffer, I had to modify Fords 6.25 inch bracket to fit them in and then then neither channel worked. On the left side a previous installer had routed the wiring on the wrong side of the window and the first time the window was rolled down the wiring was torn apart. On the right side I had to trace all the way back to a cut wire an inch out of the head unit. That was a lucky find, I had thought the right channel was dead until I tugged on the wire coming out of the back of the HU and the cut wire pulled out of the wrapping just above it.

My POS is sounding better all the time! And for just $25 total! LOL

Yup!
Keep in mind I get out at midnight and haven't seen a cop on the way home in... ever.
One time I had to take my mom to the dr'* and the lot attended had to let me know my inspection was expired... 2 years ago. I pay closer attention now.
