I heard a customer at a walmart oil change center who refused to pay for a new gas cap that one of the walmart guys had installed. They said it was a manditory part of every oil change, I've never heard of this.

that is a german thing with the cartridge filer, VW/Audi, mercedes and BMW all use them

even worse than that oil filter design is that the oil drain plug is on the front of the pan, not the bottom. that'* retarded because after you jack up the front of the car in order to get all the oil to drain you also have to jack up the rear end.

My old Chevy'* had filters like that way back in the 60'*! It was so much easier and cleaner when they went away from the cartridge type filter. Wonder why the return to that messy way of doing things?
