yutzybrian 10-27-2010 10:44 PM

Well let's see he has FE5 sway bar and a front plate cover now. Hmmm no idea about something changing color unless he's talking about his boyfriend he took with him to Gunner's house. What was his name? Keith or something another

ymmot04 10-27-2010 10:51 PM

I've got FE5 sway bars :thumbup2

I kept telling Steve I didn't want that plate cover, but then he put it on and I gave him some cash with a smile on my face.

As for Keith, he was bored and decided to tag along since I was going back to his house to install a radio that night anyways. It's always nice to have a travel companion.

Pink underwear? It didn't used to be pink, but in this light... hehehe

Uploading pictures now.

sseidriver97 10-27-2010 10:53 PM

lol you know youve got a couple pink thongs

ymmot04 10-27-2010 10:56 PM

If I do, I swear they aren't mine! The little white skirt on my stereo... not mine either. This is what happens when you let a woman in the house.

sseidriver97 10-27-2010 10:57 PM

Hey you dont gotta tell me dude ive found womens underwear in my garage in my cars and dont remember who they belong too i just know they were like a size 2

ymmot04 10-27-2010 11:04 PM

Alright so while I was visiting Gunner this weekend we decided to make a run down to I-80 and check out a few things. I was looking to match the interior lights to the doors/sub lights. The white on red just wasn't cutting it. I found these poorly manufactured and overpriced painted bulbs.
This guy is straight out of the package. : /
Attachment 21413
They served the purpose, but I found they smoke for a little while as they burn paint off (scared the shit out of me!) "Hey Keith, *sniff sniff*, do you smell something?" "IS THAT SMOKE?" Also like I said, overpriced for being factory bulbs painted red.

Here is with the crappy bulbs on the floor. You can see the white bleed through more so in person.

Crappy bulbs up front.

Another experiment. Crappy bulb on the right, regular white bulb on the left with red lens repair tape covering the enclosure. The left wasn't bright enough, but was cleaner looking than the crappy bulb. I also tried wrapping the lens repair tape around the white bulbs, worked great for about 15 seconds, then "*sniff sniff* OH GOD, SMOKE." Had a lot of that going on recently...

Then I found these guys. The 6 led style cost $14.95 a piece, so I just ordered one to try it out. I also ordered a full set of ones similar to the 3 LED style, but they were $1.95 and had 6 smaller leds inside, couldn't find pictures but they look similar.

StealthGXP 10-27-2010 11:41 PM

Nice !!!!

I want blue.... but the red dash kills me !!

ymmot04 10-27-2010 11:50 PM

I think blue would kill your eyes at night, unless you got like a cobalt blue, or something similar to your flames. That would actually look pretty good. I'd love to see a full interior led conversion to blue!

yutzybrian 10-28-2010 12:22 AM

Must.. resist.. buying.. leds. Looks great man now you got me wanting it

ymmot04 10-28-2010 12:27 AM

They look better in person and at night, the whole interior now has a nice evil red glow.

I did have to modify the sockets for the foot area, just trimmed a bit of plastic to let the new bulbs fit. I also removed the protective metal covers from all the lights since the LEDs make much less heat and also I wanted all of the light to come through.

The lights were purchased from Super Bright LEDs (same place I got the strip lighting for the doors/trunk). You can replace all of your lights for $12 + shipping. :P

Yeah its just the dash that can't be done... So that makes it almost pointless to do

If GM can make it, you can un-make it an re-make it. . . . . If that makes sense. . . . .

You might just need to try it a couple times before you get it right. :thumbup2

hmmmmmmm If I remember correctly its been tried and the end result was &^%$ its not red bulbs in the cluster its a red film on the panel :thumbup2

And the GXP panels are not cheap.

Now If I could find a company to make me a panel i might consider a second cluster :D

Nobotada84 10-28-2010 10:17 AM

QUestion, in the last pic, why is ur boost gauge at 0 psi when ur car isnt moving?

Because the engine isn't running, I just turned the ignition on to get some lights.

Also while examining that picture, I noticed I'm almost out of gas! Damn...

I've seen a GP interior converted to blue so it can be done. Just a lot of work. You could remove the red film and replace with blue maybe?

MouSe 10-28-2010 04:37 PM

Yep, I'm doing this. You just convinced me.

ymmot04 10-28-2010 04:44 PM

It would look great with your car since it's already Red. I can get the part numbers for the bulbs I used if you want.

Don't know about the GP, but the GXP is red embedded plastic, It can't be done.

Personally I don't like the colored bulbs. It looks cheap and half done. I'm love the red I have and plan to do the rest in LED. What I do hate is that with everything else red, the high beam indicator is blue. It looks like a syphilitic bump on well curved butt. Totally out of place.

ymmot04 10-28-2010 08:53 PM

I'm glad I didn't have to fight the dash colors, red works for me. I also agree on the painted bulbs, they looked like ass. The LEDs are great though, and cheap.

PS: John your horse is killin my phone LOL, going to have to overclock it to keep up!

GXP Venom 10-28-2010 09:10 PM

Hey, he running free and seamless on this ole DELL! BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!. But going to switch, the desktop's done with it's defrag.

30K HID's will take care of that Shameless highbeam Blue hahaha

GXP Venom 10-28-2010 09:28 PM

I was just looking at your siggie Stealth. Hitting the headlights with the ghost flame blue would be a good starting point for the color and look Awesome.

StealthGXP 10-28-2010 09:42 PM
