Default CD burner question.........

Why would all of a sudden a CD burner take a dislike to a particular brand of blank cd. I burnt one and an hour later tried to burn another with one from the same pack and it wouldn't burn to it.
So,I tried one of the same brand from another pack and it wouldn't burn to that one either. Yet,I just burnt one using the first disc I tried in mine, using my fiancee'* cpu and it went fine :?

I'm using Acoustica mp3/cd burner program V4.12 (build 121)

WASSUP WIT DAT??????????

How old is the burner? How long since its been cleaned?

I had one flake out like that, and it turned out a new burner cured it right away. Just died of old age, as it were...

Hmmm... Only other thing I can think of, other than try cleaning it, is - Are you verifying the speed the CDs want to be burned?

And, what'* the exact error you're getting? Can you see tht anything has been burned to the rejected CDs?

Oh, and in my opinion, Accoustica Software sucks!!!!

I usually leave it set at max but, when i got the error the first time I dropped down to 32x IIRC.

I forget the exact error message but it leaves the CD blank,I just used the same CD I first tried in the other CPU

IYO,what'* the best burner prog to use??

I personally like Sonic RecordNow!

It allows you to edit the MP3 tags, even if you're coverting to Audio and a lot of other stuff.

Sometimes in the same batch of DVD/CDs you'll hit "bad" spots... I usually get pockets of bad DVDs when I buy 100 packs.

Try one from the bottom see if it works.

That'* the thing about it. I used the same cd in another burner and it worked.
I tried the second cd I tried after that one didn't work with a different burner program and it also worked.

So,it must be my burning program :?
