I agree with this too...but keep in mind my dear gentlemen friends....the door swings both ways on this topic - you have to allow the women to do their thing too. The entire 15yrs I was married, I didn't bother to do things w/my girlfriends because it caused too much trouble with the hubby. I let him control me...I hated it but stuck it out...then when he was gone, there were no friends left either. Took me three years to hook back up w/two girlfriends from highschool (both divorced now too). This has been the BEST summer ever! Would never give up my personal time completely for any man, ever again.

Well, its the truth. I look at other girls in their relationships and just cringe when they can't stand the fact their guys want to hang out with their guyfriends. Granted, I haven't been in a lot of relationships, I know that I need my life, guys need theirs. Now, I take issue if a guy wants to go to a obvious pick up place (bar-to an extent, or a club), but if it'* just all to "chill with the guys", I think its good and healthy for a relationship. I want to hang out with my girlfriends, so fair is fair. I hate guys who are whipped by their girls.

Stay firm. If she cant like you for some of the things you like to do(like working on the car) she won't be happy with anyone.
Just remember that it works both ways, she'll do/like things that you dont much care for either.
