I was supposed to go see it last weekend, but The Missus ended up working.. 
Got my fingers crossed for this weekend tho. I already love Mater just from the previews...

CSFiend, yer thinking about John Ratzenberger (Cliff Claven from Cheers), it may have been a bit slow, but it was so detailed, its eye candy really.

My wife and daughter dragged me to this movie last Friday. I really wanted to see something else because I wasn't too keen on talking cars 'n stuff - thought it would be waaaay too cartoony for me.
Boy was I surprised. Went into the movie with bit of an attitude, came out really liking it. It helps to be a car nut, and in particular a musclecar nut. There was lots of little "background" things and I'm sure I missed a lot of 'em, so I'll have to get the DVD to pick them out. I was thrilled seeing obvious things like Richard Petty'* car as "The King" and landscapes that looked like radiator caps, front clips, hood ornaments, etc. I won't say anymore 'cause I don't want to spoil the movie for anyone, but keep an eye out for little things like that!
At least none of the cars were sitting in easy chairs and dialing telephones with their tire.
It wasn't THAT animated. I enjoyed it.

And I loved the little things like SSE Motorhead mentioned. I'd totally see it again if I went with someone who could appreciate the details.

The insurance company I work for is in with Disney and is promoting the movie heavily. They are even doing a give a way for a 2007 Ford Mustang V6 Coupe Deluxe. You just have to log into the website and enter.
