Default Car Wax Choices

Now that spring is here I want to give the car a good cleaning.
Question?? What wax or polish do members like to use, what is easiest to use and how often does it need to be done?
I saw some Turtle Wax Ice that sprays on, wipes off but thought I would check here first.
Car is dark cherry metalic.
Thanks
Martin

Do you apply by hand or buffer? Is this what you use on your car and do you pre clean car with anything?

Either works. A buffer is better. If you want to do everything, you wash it real good, then clay bar it. Then polish, glaze, and then wax. Yes, I use NXT on my car.

First question is How much is your budget? Please do not answer as little as possible. Be realistic and look at what you are willing to spend. Remember you will need to fix current defects and clean the paint. It is not just a question of wax. Wax is the last step.

Do you have a random orbital buffer and pads?

+1 Meguiars NXT 2.0. I usually wash it, use Swirl X to clean the paint & water spots, apply Meguiars polish, and then a couple of thin coats of NXT 2.0. I'm not sure if the polish is really doing anything applied by hand.

It lasts at least 2 months. I still wash it about once a week at automatic or DIY car washes and use their wax to maintain.

For a dark car I would go with Wolfgang Fuzion. It will make you car look like a gem. You ever clay bar car? Check out Auto Geek.com
